Deadline: March 31, 2020 Clinical Educator (North, Celtic, East, West)

The Clinical Educator role aims to bring clinical expertise to the regional team, assisting specialist customers to increase their knowledge and understanding of the assigned brands, their benefits and use these to grow PCUK’s products through effective implementation and expansion of appropriate use of products. This is a promotional role and discussion of brands and related data will all be within product licence. 

The Clinical Educator aims to deliver education and technical product support for services in primary and secondary care in line with regional business plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that company strategy is being supported appropriately via educational activities. 
  • Work with regional team and agree upon appropriate HCPs/trusts/departments to offer educational and product support to. 
  • Develop and maintain strong links with KOLs and customers to facilitate training sessions and clinic educational support. 
  • Develop and strengthen regional links with relevant customer organisations such as regional nurse networks. 
  • Compliantly collate and feedback on nursing activities in CRM system and highlight to regional team any challenges or opportunities presented to delivery of the regional plans. 
  • Adhere to financial budgets and control procedures. 
  • Acquire and maintain excellent on-licence product knowledge and disease area expertise 
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of appropriate promotional educational meetings.

  • Correctly identify situations where it would be more appropriate for the non-promotional team (Medical Team) to work with the customer and facilitate a compliant handover.
  • Develop nurse-led initiatives to enhance customer experience and effective pull through within accounts. 
  • Provide training and education in specialist nursing field to appropriate personnel both within and external to the business. 

This is a promotional role that reports directly to the Commercial Director. It must be made clear to health care prescribers and their staff that this role is part of the promotional team.

This includes providing education to health care prescribers and their staff on the proper use of designated treatments for assigned disease area, within the product licence. Working as part of a regional cross functional field-based team promoting the PCUK brands in order to achieve specific objectives in terms of sales & targeted activity.

To support customers in the education to ensure that they are capable of delivering effective therapies to their patients, in the safest possible manner.


Ensure adherence to the ABPI code of practice and company operating procedures.

Ensure the patient is at the heart of our business and ensure all adverse event information is provided to the pharmacovigilance department within 24 hours of receipt.

key capabillities

  • Ability to Identify, influence and build advocacy with customers in key accounts. Provides product educational services to customers, including infusion nurses, pharmacists and physicians
  • Maintain an up to date technical knowledge of specialty and disease areas and relevant on-licence publications as per customer profile.
  • Ability to support NHS trusts, departments and services to deliver high quality care to patients.
  • Ability to support smooth implementation of use of PCUK products.


  • Bachelor of Science and/or nursing background or similar experience required
  • Proven experience in clinical environment ideally with an understanding of iron therapy and/ or infusion related products preferable
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the Pharma Market and the local Health Service environment
  • Excellent practical knowledge of Specialty and disease area
  • Experience of conducting face to face presentations to customers


  • Drivers licence
  • Ability for travel in UK, including some overnight
